We cannot guarantee how long the Home Office will take to process your application. Read the current processing times.

We will normally be able to submit this type of application within 2-8 weeks of you instructing us, but we will let you know at the earliest opportunity if it is likely to take longer than this.

Disbursement

Disbursements are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties, such as court fees. We handle the payment of the disbursements on your behalf to ensure a smoother process.

The costs quoted here do not include:

Any Home Office fees for making the application. You will pay this to the Home Office directly as part of the application process.

Where the Home Office refuse your application, advice and assistance in relation to any administrative review, appeal or judicial review.

Key Stages

The fees set out above cover all of the work in relation to the following key stages of a claim:

  • Discussing your circumstances in detail and confirming whether this is the most appropriate application for you to make and what other options may be available to you;
  • Giving you advice about the requirements of the Immigration Rules and whether you meet the criteria;
  • If you do not fulfil certain criteria, whether this can be overcome and how, this on average takes 2-3 hours;
  • Considering the supporting evidence you have provided, which we anticipate will take 2-21 hours.
  • Where necessary, helping you obtain further evidence (such as medical records and bank statements);
  • Preparing your application and submitting it on your behalf, which we anticipate will take 6-120 hours, depending on complexity;
  • Attendance at a Home Office interview: if the Home Office ask you to attend an interview, we will give you clear advice (and discuss the possibility of us attending with you) at the appropriate time. This could be between 1-3 hours;
  • Giving you advice about the outcome of the application and any further steps you need to take.
  • The stages set out above are an indication and if some of stages above are not required, the fee may be reduced.

Raphael Newton – Director |COLP | COFA

Raphael Newton leads the department and has over 10 years of experience in Immigration and asylum, with a focus on complex asylum application and Point Based System. Since qualifying in 2016, he has supported hundreds of individuals and immigration and asylum matters. Raphael Newton holds an Honours degree in Law from South Bank University. He completed his training contract at A.Vincent Solicitors and joined our firm in 2018, becoming a Director in 2018. He continues to develop his expertise through ongoing professional training in immigration and asylum. He is also fluent in French, allowing him to assist a diverse range of clients.

Fadeke Oralusi – Senior Solicitor

Fadeke qualified as a solicitor in 2022, having studied at the BPP University achieving Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course. A longstanding member of our immigration and asylum team, Fadeke has extensive experience with complex immigration and asylum matters, having handled over a 100 such matters. She is also fluent in Yoruba, allowing her to assist a diverse range of clients.

Folake Coker – Director | Senior Solicitor

Folake has been part of our immigration and asylum team since qualifying as a solicitor in 2017. She holds a LLB Law degree from the London Metropolitan University of Sheffield and completed her legal training at the London Metropolitan University. Before joining us, John gained experience in residential conveyancing, probate, immigration, and commercial property. Since qualifying, he has successfully advised on over 100 residential and commercial matters and continues to build his specialism in this field.
